Job Profile: Technical Solutions Engineer, Databases

As a Technical Solutions Engineer, Databases, you will:

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to Google Cloud databases.
• Help customers migrate from legacy databases to modern GCP databases (Spanner, BigQuery).
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for internal and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to Supportability Engineering to improve product quality.
• Interact with SRE and vendor teams to minimize customer impact during outages.
• Understand customer impact and handle escalations effectively.
• Work as part of a global team to provide 24-hour customer support.

• Experience:
  • 2 years of experience coding in a general-purpose language (Java, C++, Python, etc.) required.
  • 2 years of experience troubleshooting technical issues required.
• Public cloud or database certifications are preferred.
• Experience with SQL database administration, cloud networking, or distributed computing is preferred.
• Experience with IaaS Solutions on public cloud, on-premise, or hybrid cloud computing is preferred.
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix or Windows systems is preferred.
• Ability to work non-standard work hours shifts may be required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 2 years of coding experience in a general-purpose language.
• 2 years of experience troubleshooting technical issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Public cloud or database certifications.
• Experience analyzing trace files, network packets, and OS performance metrics.
• Experience with SQL database administration, cloud networking, or distributed computing.
• Experience with IaaS solutions.
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix or Windows systems.
